fifa 17 futties is one of fifa's last major events. from friday, july 7th, the community will be able to determine the best players of the year in ten categories in ultimate team mode for six weeks. the award is not intended by ea sports, but by the fans and also bears the nickname fut-oscars.

in this article we will show you how to participate in the votings of the individual categories and what you can win. in addition, you will learn everything about the pink fut cards as well as the special squad building challenges, which can be played during the event.

how does voting work?

contrary to the last years, in which the community could vote on a website about the winners of the futties, the winners of the ten categories will be determined in fifa 17 by squad building challenges (sbcs).

    what are squad building challenges?

    the new sbcs introduced in fifa 17 are game challenges where you have to create teams under certain conditions, such as "create a team of eleven gold players." for the ending of such a challenge you get a reward, the futties is a pink special card. so you can win new fut cards without buying sets.

ea sports will offer three sbcs for each of the ten categories during the event, where you can win the pink special cards from the three nominated players. the fans then have 72 hours to complete the sbc of the footballer who, in their opinion, deserved the award. the player with the most completed nomination challenges is declared the winner and is then available for another 72 hours in a new squad building challenge.

how do you get the special pink cards?

the pink special cards are not to be found this year in card sets, but can only be played on the sbcs. to achieve this, you must successfully complete a nomination or winner challenge.

however, only the pink winner cards have increased values (usually one to two points). all other fut cards, both the normal and the pink nomination cards of the affected players, retain their default ratings. there will be no automatic value upgrades if you win the winner of a category during the voting phase.

since fifa 15, the futties have been published once a year. in fifa 17, the event lasts for six weeks (in former times it was only two weeks). from july 7 to august 18, new squad building challenges (sbcs) will be played every friday and tuesday, through which fut fans can determine the best players from fifa 17. the winner sbcs are always available for 72 hours, and the winning sbc is available for 72 hours.

in fifa 17, 30 players are nominated in ten categories. the exact titles of the individual futties awards are not yet known, but the foreseeable categories can be derived from the last few years:

special squad building challenges

in addition to the fut oscars, three special types of squad building challenges will be playable during the futties event:

    end of an era of premium sbcs: six players, who are at the end of their football career, are available in special premium challenges. for three weeks, two of them are published every friday. in addition, there are other sbcs with lower requirements, in which you can get a loan version of the end-of-an-era cards.

30 futties nominee for 10 categories, you only can vote for your favorite players and get their pink futties nominee item with base stats by completing their specific futties nomination sbc.

the only one player for each category with the most completed nomination sbcs will win each category. complete the separate fifa 17 futties winner sbc is the only way to win their futties winner cards with ed stats.

    "best of" sbcs: during the futties event, some of the most popular squad building challenges from fifa 17 will return one last time. ea sports have not yet revealed what these are, but they are all supposed to have a "small twist".
